Corin Tucker Band Announces Sophomore Album + Tour Dates

Corin Tucker Band have announced their sophomore album, “Kill My Blues” which will be released on September 18 via Kill Rock Stars). “Kill My Blues” is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2010 release “1,000 Years” and finds former Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Tucker returning to her riot grrrl roots along with band members Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears), Sara Lund (Unwound) and Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks). When talking about the writing and recording the new album, Tucker notes that it was a true group effort. “After the past two years playing together, traveling and making music, I think we’re more comfortable,” she says. “We collaborated on every song on this record and no one was shy about their ideas. I think you can hear that sense of joy and abandon in the songs.”

The Hundred In The Hands Get Remixed By Andy Stott + Tour Worldwide

Today, The Hundred In The Hands shared Andy Stott’s remix of their single “Keep It Low” lifted from their new album “Red Night” on June 12 via Warp Records. The remix can be found on the 12-inch “Keep It Low” single, which includes an original B-side (“Mountains”), and additional remixes from JD Twitch. The single will be released on May 28 via Warp Records. The band is also announcing a number of tour dates, including an album preview show at Brooklyn’s Glasslands tomorrow, where they’ll be debuting new material from “Red Night” live for the first time.

About the Andy Stott remix, the band says, “We were listening to Andy Stott’s “Passed Me By” and “We Stay Together” EP’s a lot as we started the record. So many good ideas and textures, with low end in the extreme that kind of rattled our minds a bit. When it came to looking for people to remix, he was first on the list.”

YACHT Release Cover Track & Announce Tour Dates

YACHT has released a new track to promote their upcoming European tour. The new song is a cover of iconic avant-garde French singer Brigitte Fontaine’s “Le Goudron.” The track is a surrealist revolutionary song originally recorded in 1969 with The Art Ensemble of Chicago; YACHT has reinvented and reworked the track to fill modern day dance floors.

Eventhough Claire L. Evans of YACHT was raised in France, this is the first song YACHT has ever recorded in French. YACHT said about the song, “we can only hope that our frantic, starry-eyed cribbing of Brigitte Fontaine makes us better people. In the meantime, we wanted to pay homage.”

The band has been touring extensively and continue with dates throughout Europe and the US.
