I Am Camera Remixes Lana Del Rey

You saw her Saturday Night Live performance and wrote off Lana Del Rey, right? Well, that is because you haven’t heard the I Am A Camera remix of Del Rey’s track, ‘Born To Die’ lifted from her debut album of the same name. I Am A Camera have reworked the song with a dark, heavy beat driven overhaul.

Lana Del Rey – Born To Die (I Am A Camera Remix)

I Am A Camera are a London based electro-pop duo with a lot to show off about this year after a headline show at Proud in Camden last week.  Their debut single, ‘Commuter Love’, released at the end of last year had remixes by Platform 6 and John Myers.

Watch the video for the original track below and make a comparison.

Music Video Addiction: Sunday February 12, 2012 Edition

Scuba: The Hope – such an infectious beat.

Snowy Red: Never Alive – no video, but its so good that I still had to include it.

Jay-Z & Kanye West: Niggas In Paris – yep, I can see why it causes seizures.

Cloud Nothings: No Future / No Past – beautiful video and track.

Holograms: ABC City – where synths and punk collide.

Ride: Taste – perfect early 90s shoegaze pop.

Thanks for watching. We post the music video picks every Sunday so look back in the archives for older editions and pop back in again next week.

Bishop Morocco Release New EP

Toronto’s Bishop Morocco release their new EP ‘Old Boys’ on March 13 via Arts & Crafts. ‘Old Boys’ is a six-track EP on which the band moves away from its original new wave influences. The band’s Toronto EP release party is March 8 at Wrongbar.

MP3: Bishop Morocco – Old Boys

Bishop Morocco is the musical vision of James Sayce and Jake Fairley. The Toronto-based duo recorded its 2008 self-titled debut at a homemade studio in their Groningen, Netherlands apartment. The band has since added Ian Worang on guitar and Jon McCann on drums.

The band’s sound was described by Under The Radar Magazine as “shimmery and sensual new wave that stands on the shoulders of New Order and Joy Division,” and by the National Post as “sweetly moody atmospheric pop,” These influences are quite evident in Bishop Morocco’s sound and in a very good way.

Watch an older video by Bishop Morocco below.
